The 20km trail from Wadi Al Ijeli to Wadi Shawka is a favorite among off-road enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. While it’s a popular destination, I recommend tackling the trail backward, starting from Wadi Al Ijeli and heading toward Wadi Shawka. This approach allows you to access the wadi from the less attended side, offering a quieter and more serene experience, especially on weekends.
Its stunning scenery, easy accessibility, and variety of camping options make this trail an excellent choice for adventurers of all kinds. Whether you’re in a 4×4 or exploring parts of the route in a sedan, the trail provides plenty of opportunities to find beauty and even secluded camping spots with a bit of effort.

CAMPING SPOTS ALONG THE TRAIL
If you’re looking for a memorable overnight experience, the trail boasts several excellent camping spots. While it’s a popular destination, especially on weekends, the vastness of the wadi and the surrounding mountains means there’s always the potential to find your slice of serenity.

Perched above the wadi, this spot provides stunning views and easy accessibility.
- Second recommendation: 25.095835, 56.103777
Hidden from the main road, this spot is more private and perfect for a peaceful night under the stars. - Third recommendation (advanced 4×4 only): 25.096910, 56.101134
This secluded gem is nestled deep in the mountains, requiring a robust 4×4 vehicle and advanced driving skills. Be prepared for a steep ascent and avoid visiting alone due to the challenging terrain.
